Leanne Clare

 

Leanne is an engagement, communications and advocacy leader with more than 25 years experience working with nonprofits, media organizations, governments and academic institutions.

 

A former journalist with CBC Radio, Leanne uses her creative storytelling skills to encourage politicians, industry leaders, youth and the general public to take action on climate change. Working with the World Wildlife Fund’s Global Arctic Programme and the David Suzuki Foundation, Leanne has over a decade of experience engaging citizens in the wonders of the natural world, along with the successes and challenges faced by scientists, policy-makers and Indigenous communities.

 

Leanne began her working life as an international policy advisor for both the Alberta government and the University of Alberta. Whether at home or abroad, Leanne is passionate about achieving positive social and environmental justice.

 

Leanne has a Graduate Diploma in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership from Carlton University, a Masters of Arts in Journalism from Western University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Alberta. Born and raised in Alberta, she now lives in Ottawa with her very busy family.
