Webinar: Habitat Management on Public Lands

The second part of the “Habitat Management in Alberta” webinar mini-series looked at law and policies that apply to habitat management and protection on Alberta’s public lands.  It included looking at legislation for protected areas, land-use planning, and public lands management. Regulatory tools – such the Master Schedule of Standards and Conditions, and Crown Land Reservations – were also discussed.  There was a brief review of the municipal role with respect to habitat protection in municipal parks and reserves.

This webinar mini-series highlights the significance of law and the ongoing regulatory reforms that affect habitat management. By situating these laws within a broader context, it seeks to provide a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing habitat protection in Alberta.

Our webinar mini-series aims to inform stakeholders about the legal frameworks involved, guiding them in their efforts to foster sustainable habitat management practices in Alberta.
