Join us for a three-part webinar series focused on regulatory changes in Alberta. Each part will consist of a short webinar dealing with a specific regulatory update, followed by a question-and-answer portion where you can ask an ELC lawyer your questions related to this topic.
Regulatory Updates
Our regulatory updates series will highlight three main changes in the law, changes to the All-Seasons Resort Act, amendments to the Water (Ministerial) Regulations, and the outcome from the recently released federal ‘plastics’ decision. The first webinar will look at the All-Seasons Resort Act which now has regulations and policy to guide its implementation. This webinar will review these regulations and highlight the relevant policies. Outstanding questions about the process will be highlighted.
The second webinar will look at recent amendments to the Water (Ministerial) Regulations, including various items that were identified during the 2025 consultation around water availability. This webinar will review the amendments and discuss the potential challenges and impacts of the amendments.
Finally, our third webinar will provide a discussion of the long-awaited Federal Court of Appeal decision in Canada v Responsible Plastic Use Coalition et al. including the major issues before the court, the court’s decision, and what it means for plastics regulation.
