The Environmental Law Centre (Alberta) (ELC) is inviting applications from law students for a summer research position. Currently enrolled law students are eligible to apply. The position is for 28-35 hours a week and will start May 6th to August 30, 2024.
The successful applicant will work with the ELC staff counsel and Executive Director in fulfilling a variety of duties, including:
- legal research and writing;
- community engagement;
- writing for a variety of ELC communications channels; and
- engage in policy discussions with relevant policy makers and government (as applicable).
Anticipated areas of work include: access to information legislation, endangered species; climate change law and policy, and other environmental and natural resource topics.
The position is a hybrid position, split between the ELC offices (Edmonton) and remote work. The salary for the position is $22.00/hour.
